Cycling Cambodia - A Land of Contrasts! // A Bike Touring Short Film // Part 36 - Cambodia

Cambodia really is a land of contrasts, and therefore cycling through this fascinating country was actually a little bit different to what we had expected. Apart from visiting Cambodia's tourist highlights, we feel like we also got to see parts that not many foreigners get to experience. Something that once again made us realize just how special our way of traveling is. What really stuck with us from our time in Cambodia, is how incredibly friendly the Khmer people we encountered were, which we think is especially remarkable given the extremely tragic recent history of the country. While we only briefly touch on the subject in our film (and only give a very simplistic overview of the events of the Cambodian Genocide), we encourage you to read a bit more about it, in order to even begin to understand the atrocities and hardships the people of Cambodia had to endure.
